As every contractor or serious handyman knows, good quality tools are expensive. I’m talking about Dewalt, Porter-Cable, Bosch, Milwaukee and so on. But there is a secret to buying good tools at very low prices!
Have you ever wondered what happens to all those tools people return to stores? They get reconditioned and sold through other tool companies that specialize in selling factory reconditioned tools.
My favorite is Tool King Reconditioned Tools in the USA (even though I live in Canada). I recently ordered from them and the order only took 6 days to arrive. I picked up a ROTOZIP for $35.00 and Dewalt Drywall Screw gun for $59.00, overall I saved about $120.00 and both arrived in brand new condition…
And in all reality, these are brand new tools. Most of the time a returned tool that is reconditioned, is simply a faulty trigger, electrical component or something else that is easily replaced at the factory.
Shipping for the two items noted above was about $47.00 to Canada, but if you buy several tools, the shipping rate does not increase much and the shipping costs is less per tool – important for orders from outside the USA. If you live in the USA, Tool King frequently offers free shipping on orders over $100.00 – check their site to make sure when you are about to order.

Important Note: If you see a tool you want, don’t delay ordering it, stock on reconditioned tools changes by the hour and quantities can be very limited.
Some brand new tools, primarily Dewalt and Festool, are not shipped outside the USA due to warranty issues but this is only a small portion of the name brands and tools sold by ToolKing.com. This restriction does not seem to apply to reconditioned tools as I had no problem ordering the Dewalt screw gun.
